I personally hate to shop for birthday presents. I am one of the worst at gift giving. I am never able to buy a gift that someone enjoys. For many years I have tried to find a better way to buy gifts. I have given some really awful gifts over the years. One year I gave a ski helmet to a person that does not even ski. I bought the helmet for someone that loves motorcycles.

You will want to consider your budget as well. Until you have decided on a budget there is no reason to go shopping. You will likely spend most of the day looking around in stores. When shopping for a woman’s birthday gift it can be a little harder. However most women do love oils, lotions, and candles. You could try to find out what scent she likes best before buying this.

Personalized gifts are a great idea, there are so many things that you can have personalized that you really have a large selection to choose from. You can personalize anything from a hand bag to the back of a leather watch. A personalized gift will let the person know that you put some thought into the gift.

You should also consider someone’s personality when trying to find a birthday gift for them. When you consider whether the person is quirky, shy, loud, elegant, or girlie you have a better chance of finding a gift they will like.

As long as you take the time to think about a great gift idea before you go shopping you will come up with something the person will love. Do not just go shopping with no idea of what you want to get because you will end up buying something that you would like, not something they would like. Just because you like it does not mean that they will.
