Do You Know All The Styles Of Pocket Wedding Invitations?

  • Pocket Wrap – With this design, the pocket is part of the outer wrap that folds up to surround your wedding invitation card before insertion into a mailing envelope.  Depending on the invitation design, the pocket could be located at the bottom or on the side.
  • Side-by-Side Pocket Folder – This stylish folder wrap opens to reveal two equal side-by-side pockets, one for the invitation and the other for insert cards.     

In some styles the jacket or pocket does not cover the whole invitation and actually reveals a portion of it as part of its unique design.  The pocket itself may also have a decorative motif.

Many times pocket invitations will only include the actual mailing envelope versus traditional inner and outer envelopes.  If the inner envelope is eliminated, you will need to list specifically who is invited from that household on the actual mailing envelope.

If the pocket wedding invitation style you choose is larger in size or has extra weight, keep in mind it may require extra postage.  This possibility could be noted within the product description and weight will also increase as more inserts cards are included.  Just to be sure, it is recommended you take one of your ready-to-mail wedding invitations to the Post Office to officially determine if extra postage is required.

How To Plan Ahead When Ordering Your Wedding Invitations

  • Name Tabs – Most commonly associated with pocket wedding invitations, these ornately printed labels show the couples’ names and are used to seal the pocket wrap.
  • Envelope Icing – Just like icing on a cake, these decorative labels will complete the look of your envelopes by wrapping around one side from back to front. The part of the label that appears on the front has room for handwriting your guest’s mailing address with the back side showing your initials or maybe even an entire return address.
  • Place Cards – Guests will know exactly at which table their place is reserved with these personalized cards.
  • Table Cards – Guests are easily guided to their reserved table with placement of these identifying cards.
  • Menu Cards – Positioned at each place setting, they add an elegant finishing touch to your wedding reception tables as well as giving your guests a preview of the evening menu.
