When two people spend so much time together that it hurts to be apart, that is when the wedding bells begin to ring, way off in the distant part of their minds. They may come to the conclusion at slightly different times but they will eventually find that they are both ready to take the next big jump. He must propose.
For many men, proposing is a very daunting prospect. There is the slightest chance, in his mind at least, that she may turn him down. So he plans very carefully, choosing to go for a long drive in the country on a sunny afternoon, looking for just the right moment to present the flashy diamond engagement ring along with his profession of undying love and pop the waited-for question: ‘Will you be my wife, forever?’
The whirlwind of activities needed to prepare for a wedding begins in earnest. The dress and wedding cake are among the most important, as are the invitations. The many trial hairdo’s are enough to give anyone neck pain. It almost makes her want to cut her long hair so there wont be so much weight to deal with. Finally, one is decided upon.
The groom also has a few duties, such as choosing his best man and other attendants, breaking down and helping her with picking out a china pattern and his favorite, hunting with her for mens wedding bands. They had looked briefly when they had been browsing the jewelers for her rings. Now the time has arrived for getting down to the details. He will wear this ring forever, showing the world his true intention for his wife. This will be a one-time deal for them both. Marriage is forever, they both say.
The day arrives, after all the plans have come to fruition and they are ready to walk down the aisle and become one. Her gown is lovely and the crystal necklace with matching earrings, sparkles like diamonds. He is as handsome as ever, black tux and purple cummerbund complimenting her gown and the decor she has chosen.
The traditional tin cans and streamers, along with soaped-up windows, loudly announce the departure of the wedding couple. The bride and groom may not even notice the noise at first, so anxious are they to be on their way to celebrate their nuptials with a glorious honeymoon. Of course, this is at the end of the reception, which was attended by all their friends and family, with toasts of champagne and many snacks available for any who may have desired them.
At the end of the full day, with all the strain, anxiety and tension in the past, it seems that all the stress and work of putting together the perfect wedding has paid off and is well worth the trouble. It is an auspicious beginning for the young married couple in love.
